We are in Paso Robles at the taproom restaurant. Having the taproom only beer sampler. And this steak and cheese pizza. The here is super citrusy, 60% wheat. The unfiltered DBA and nitro are solid Brit pales, the nitro a little too strong. The brown is one of the strongest flavored browns I've ever had, and the IPA is super-hoppy, including dry-hopping. Solid across the board.

Hefeweisen, unfiltered DBA (Brit pale), taproom brown, taproom IPA, and nitro DBA. All in a tasting. Yummy

Figueroa Mountain IPA with poppy seeds.
Centennial, cascade and simcoe hops. Relatively flat and the hops are subdued. A little heavier on the hops than moat IPAs.

Sam Adams' "Dark Depths"
Sam Adams calls this a "Baltic IPA" as if that was a real thing. They are really getting far afield. It is close to a "black" IPA, but really is a lagered porter. Dark malts, chocolate, a little burnt toast/burnt barbecue flavor. Would go great with pork ribs, for sure. Maybe even a little wood flavor. And enough hops to take off the sweetness. But damn, it's not an IPA. It's not an ale, and it's not even pale. But it is a good tasty porter.
